Capital Improvement Project (CIP) Senior Engineering Inspectors provide on-site management and inspection services for Raleigh Water funded utility construction projects and Private Development projects. CIP Inspectors are Raleigh Water’s primary on-site contact for citizens, project engineers and other stakeholders. Successful candidates are self-motivated, organized, and detail oriented. Inspectors must be able to work independently while regularly collaborating effectively with a variety of project stakeholders. Candidates must be able to read and interpret project plans, specifications, and understand regulatory requirements and applicable laws. The ability to evaluate varying field conditions, apply appropriate requirements and determine reasonable solutions are essential skills for success. The Raleigh Water CIP Inspection group is tasked with performing daily Inspections on water and sewer infrastructure installed in Raleigh as well as in our Merger Town services areas (Garner, Knightdale, Rolesville, Wake Forest, Wendell and Zebulon). Typical daily activities may include traveling across the service area to perform inspections at multiple construction sites or a full-time assignment stationed on a large construction site. Inspectors are provided with a work truck to conduct city business as well as all necessary equipment to perform their duties.
