About The Position

DB Global Technology, Inc. seeks a Senior Engineer in Cary, NC to design, develop, and maintain high-performance, distributed microservices and enterprise payment processing applications. This role involves architecting, developing, and maintaining enterprise applications and scalable microservices-based systems using Java and Spring Boot. The engineer will design distributed system architectures and develop RESTful and SOAP APIs and event-driven systems to enable asynchronous communication, real-time data processing, and integration across services using Kafka, JMS, and MQ. Responsibilities also include optimizing database performance through data modeling and development of efficient queries, stored procedures, and functions across relational database environments including Oracle, Postgres, and PL/SQL. The role requires integrating application security practices, including code scanning and vulnerability remediation, into the software development lifecycle, and designing and implementing secure API authentication and authorization mechanisms using Spring Security. The engineer will support the migration and deployment of application components to cloud-based environments and ensure software quality through test-driven development practices, including unit testing, integration testing, and code reviews using Junit and Mockito. Additionally, the role involves using version control systems, build tools, CI/CD platforms, code quality tools, containerization and deployment tools, and monitoring platforms.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field or equivalent.
  • Three (3) years of experience architecting, developing, and maintaining enterprise applications and scalable microservices-based systems using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Experience designing distributed system architectures.
  • Experience developing RESTful and SOAP APIs and event-driven systems using Kafka, JMS, and MQ.
  • Experience optimizing database performance through data modeling and development of efficient queries, stored procedures, and functions across relational database environments including Oracle, Postgres, and PL/SQL.
  • Experience integrating application security practices including code scanning and vulnerability remediation into the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience designing and implementing secure API authentication and authorization mechanisms to support enterprise identity and single sign-on capabilities using Spring Security.
  • Experience supporting migration and deployment of application components to cloud-based environments.
  • Experience ensuring software quality through test-driven development practices including unit testing, integration testing, and code reviews using Junit and Mockito.
  • Experience using version control systems including Git and Bitbucket.
  • Experience using build tools including Maven.
  • Experience using CI/CD platforms and automation tools including Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
  • Experience using code quality tools including SonarQube.
  • Experience using containerization and deployment tools including Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
  • Experience using monitoring and observability platforms including Splunk.
  • Experience with additional enterprise development tools including OAuth, Git, SVN, Bitbucket, Tomcat, and Unix/Linux scripting.
