About The Position

Allerion Consulting Group is seeking a Senior Engineer (PE or GE) to join their Northern California team. This leadership role involves shaping projects, mentoring talent, and driving excellence. The ideal candidate will be a technical leader, mentor, and decision-maker, supporting the Principal Geotechnical Engineer with geotechnical investigations, including field and office duties. The position requires balancing project needs and client expectations, with strong management abilities. The Senior Engineer reports to the President.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (required)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required (California)
  • Strong background in: Field engineering, Boring logs & soils classification, Settlement analysis, Slope stability, Foundation recommendations and Experience supporting geotechnical investigations (field & office)
  • Comfortable working with: Clients, contractors, and design professionals; Field and office teams
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and solve complex challenges
  • Proficiency in: Microsoft Office, Geotechnical software, Adobe and email systems

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering (preferred)
  • Geotechnical Engineer (GE) license preferred (or actively pursuing in California)

Responsibilities

  • Manage geotechnical investigation projects
  • Manage staff engineers and staff geologists
  • Perform technical research, analysis and research
  • Work in the field when needed to support projects
  • Support actions needed to meet customer expectations
  • Help promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale
  • Support collaborative communication within the department and with clients
  • Communicate customer challenges with the team and support ways of improving the customer experience, including resolving challenges
  • Assist senior staff with technical support and having an open dialog regarding project status or problems onsite
  • Project management including: Attending pre-construction meetings, Forecasting project difficulties and Strong communications with contractors/clients
  • Reviewing field reports & documentation
  • Ensuring deadlines are met
  • Assign dispatch inspections to qualified inspectors
  • Work toward solving field challenges
  • Reviewing and approving timesheets
  • Accomplishes success in the position by embracing company goals, working with other departments, inspiring assigned staff & driving for positive relationships with peers, coworkers, clients, field personnel, and senior management.
