About The Position

An engineering professional who, working with a high degree of independence, applies scientific knowledge, engineering knowledge, mathematics, and ingenuity to complete assignments related to a specific technical field or discipline in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry. A Senior Engineer has general knowledge of other related disciplines beyond their own area of expertise.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferred), science, or a closely related discipline is desired, or equivalent technical experience plus demonstrated competence, with a desired 5+ years of significant engineering and/or operational experience.
A post-graduate education/degree is desired and may contribute towards the desired years of experience.
Has demonstrated competency within a discipline.
Possesses a strong technical knowledge and application of concepts, practices, and procedures.
Works on problems of complex scope where analysis of situations or data involves multiple competing factors.
Demonstrates judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
Interacts and collaborates well with diverse groups of architects and engineers while maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external team members in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment.
Listens to and understands others' points of view and articulates tactfully and respectfully their perspective orally, in writing, and in presentations.
Possesses interpersonal skills to negotiate and reconcile differences.
Has a technical background in laboratory life sciences (preferred), health care, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, biologics, or similar industries.
Has demonstrated competency with financial systems and fiscal control.

Responsibilities

Responsible for compliance with applicable codes, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Independently plans and conducts small- to medium-sized assigned projects within engineering specialty requiring conventional types of plans, investigations, and/or equipment.
Manages multiple, often concurrent, projects and meets deadlines.
Responsible for achieving the project's financial targets in support of business objectives.
Maintains project controls and reporting for cost, scope and schedule; develops execution strategy including procurement.
Balances multiple demands.
Produces unique and cost-effective results.
Establishes alternate use possibilities and incorporates flexibility; balances system costs with benefits provided; oversees design work of internal and external consultants; creates or modifies designs for intermediate problems.
Integrates financial with technical data.
Analyzes complex interdisciplinary problems and identifies their impact; assesses uncertainty and risk; draws conclusions reflecting broad business needs.
Represents engineering on corporate task forces.
Identifies the full range of customer and client needs, proposes appropriate solutions, and adapts them to meet stakeholder requirements.
Monitors the improvement of other engineers and may participate in the evaluation of assigned staff/project team members and in the identification of development needs.
May supervise other engineers or technicians.
Uses established project management tools and techniques (Front-end planning (FEP), cash flow projections, scope/schedule control, etc.) to completely manage small projects (stay within authorized budget limits and achieve the overall project and organizational objectives).
Contributes to the development of project management best practices.
Directs and manages project execution by performing the work defined in the project plan to achieve project objectives.
