About The Position

We are looking for a Senior Engineer, Project Manager or above to perform and lead solid waste projects in our Salt Lake City office. We are looking for a team player with a desire to develop professionally. You will prepare engineering calculations, drawings, reports, and permit applications and serve as the Engineer of Record on projects for public and private clients primarily in Utah and the Southwest region. Responsibilities include engineering design, client communications, and staff coordination and development. Project responsibility will have a primary focus on solid waste management, including landfill gas, landfills and landfill infrastructure, composting, and other projects, which may require design, engineering, permitting, construction, and operations support. There is flexibility for a mix of in-office and remote (hybrid).

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering or similar engineering major.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, including working knowledge and demonstrated consulting experience specific to the solid waste industry.
  • Experience with landfill gas management, air compliance, and/or landfill design and permitting.
  • Valid driver’s license with a driving record in good standing.

  • P.E. is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, reports, and permit applications.
  • Serve as the Engineer of Record on projects for public and private clients.
  • Perform engineering design, client communications, and staff coordination and development.
  • Focus on solid waste management projects, including landfill gas, landfills and landfill infrastructure, composting, and other related projects.
  • Provide design, engineering, permitting, construction, and operations support.
  • Conduct field work including surveys/data gathering, CQA liner installations, and inspections.
  • Perform office-based tasks including CAD drafting, mathematical calculations, report writing, creating site plans and facility diagrams, and preparing permit applications.
  • Engage in business development activities such as proposal preparation, meeting with clients, and attending industry-related conferences/trade shows.
  • Receive technical guidance on complex problems and obtain supervisory approval for plans or projects.
