Senior Engineer - Launch Integration

AIRBUS U.S. Space & Defense•Merritt Island, FL

About The Position

Airbus U.S. Space & Defense is seeking an engineer to develop solutions for new satellite systems and integrate them with space launch vehicles. The Senior Launch Integration Engineer is part of the Launch Mission Manager team, responsible for successful launch-base campaigns for Airbus U.S. space vehicles. The role defines and manages mechanical and electrical interfaces and team logistics to meet customer commitments, contributing throughout the development lifecycle from requirements definition through launch-day operations. The position leads moderate and complex assignments and reports to the Director - Systems Engineering. The role leads launch integration and analysis for Airbus spacecraft platforms, including ARROW; supports spacecraft product-roadmap development and customization for customer missions; and performs launch systems engineering to build, maintain, and evolve Airbus spacecraft products. It also promotes cost savings through reuse of heritage platform designs and manufacturing infrastructure. The work location is Merritt Island, Florida. Fully remote candidates located within the United States will also be considered. Periodic domestic travel is required for Airbus facilities, partners, and launch campaigns, with occasional international travel to work with European Airbus colleagues or foreign vendors. U.S. citizenship and an active Top Secret clearance are required.
