About The Position

Joining Collins Aerospace isn’t just about finding a job; it’s about embarking on a journey to redefine the future of aerospace technology. Perform analysis at all levels of the total system product including concept, design, fabrication, modeling, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Consider and evaluate alternatives accounting for similar metrics. Manage configuration process, perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Perform architectural exploration. Decompose customer specifications and system level requirements into sub-system and piece part requirements, and generate verification criteria and plan for the requirements.

Requirements

  • Must possess at least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field and 5 years of progressive experience as a Systems Engineer or related role. In the alternative, must possess at least a master’s degree or its equivalent in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field and 3 years of experience as a Systems Engineer or related role would be acceptable.
  • Must possess at least 3 years of experience designing and specifying deterministic network architectures, including but not limited to: Ethernet-based networks (IPv4/IPv6, TSN, VLANs, QoS, multicast) and Deterministic legacy protocols: ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, CAN, ARINC 629.
  • Must possess at least 3 years of experience with integration (network testing, simulation, and automated scripting (e.g., Python, Bash)) and testing digital computing systems, switches, routers, NICs, and gateways.
  • Must possess at least 3 years of experience with experience with safety-critical development standards, including: DO-178C, DO-254, DO-297, AC20-193, or ARP4754B.
  • Must possess at least 3 years of experience with troubleshooting digital computing systems and complex avionics networking systems.
