In your role as a senior structural engineer at Mi-Tech, you ll design a wide variety of temporary and permanent structures associated with the construction of utility, infrastructure and heavy civil projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering
  • 4 to 8 years of experience in the design of temporary works, heavy civil, or infrastructure projects
  • Hold an active Professional Engineer license in any state
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, Mathcad, AutoCAD, and Finite Element Analysis
  • strong attention to detail
  • ability to work in a quickly changing environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • oral and written communication
  • valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record as determined by the Michels Review Team

Nice To Haves

  • Masters degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in structures preferred
  • Basic knowledge of geotechnical engineering and related structures (foundations, retaining walls, and earth retention systems)
  • Previous construction field experience

Responsibilities

  • developing calculation submittals
  • coordinating development of design and shop drawings
  • supporting project pursuits and bids through preliminary evaluations and analyses
  • mentoring and supporting other engineers
  • communication and coordination with design and field teams
  • providing support to the Principal Engineer with any other assigned duties
