About The Position

The Senior Systems Testing Engineer will lead system-level testing and validation of embedded software and controls on HVAC equipment, ensuring robust performance in real-world operating conditions. This role focuses on equipment-level and controls testing, requiring strong systems understanding to validate requirements, define effective test strategies, and provide clear readiness status across program milestones. The engineer will act as a key bridge between software, controls, and systems teams to ensure high-quality product delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 5+ years of systems engineering experience with embedded products
  • 5+ years of integrating and testing complex embedded control systems
  • 3+ years of experience using root cause analysis strategies
  • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the USA. No visa sponsoring available.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or Technical fields.
  • Experience providing systems engineering support in a cross-competency environment
  • Root Cause strategies include 5 Why’s or 7-Step problem solving.
  • Experience with serial communication protocols such as RS-485 and CAN
  • Experience troubleshooting embedded controls systems
  • Experience in participating in DFMEAs
  • Experience in the use of JIRA/Confluence
  • Familiarity with C, C++ and Linux development

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute system-level testing on HVAC equipment, including validation of embedded software and controls behavior
  • Develop and own test strategies covering functional validation, regression, and scenario-based testing aligned to system requirements
  • Perform controls testing, validating sequences, logic, and system interactions under varied operating conditions
  • Translate SSRD/SRS into testable scenarios and validation plans, ensuring requirement coverage and traceability
  • Lead integration testing across controller, sensors, actuators, and system interfaces
  • Perform root cause analysis for system-level issues observed in lab, factory, and field environments
  • Represent test readiness and status in Passport gates, including risk identification and mitigation plans
  • Collaborate with systems engineering teams to clarify requirements and ensure testability and completeness
  • Work closely with software, controls, and hardware teams to resolve integration and performance issues
  • Support lab setup, instrumentation, and test execution on physical equipment
  • Contribute to test process improvements, including standardization of test methods and reporting
  • Participate in field trials, factory validation, and customer site issue resolution as needed
