About The Position

Qualcomm's Data Center team develops cutting-edge rack-scale AI inference solutions for next-generation liquid-cooled data centers. As part of our rapid expansion, we are seeking an experienced and highly skilled engineer to drive system-level bring-up, debug, validation, and failure analysis of accelerator cards, servers, and rack-scale platforms. This role will focus on identifying, triaging, and resolving hardware and software issues while developing robust test processes and operational infrastructure to support the delivery of industry-leading AI products.

Requirements

  • Proven experience debugging and validating enterprise-class hardware, firmware, and software systems.
  • Strong understanding of server architectures, AI accelerators or GPU cards, PCIe, networking, and system integration.
  • Hands-on experience with failure analysis methodologies and root cause investigation.
  • Proficiency using hardware debug equipment, including oscilloscopes, JTAG tools, and other diagnostic instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with Linux-based automation environments and scripting.
  • Hands-on experience working in laboratory environments and performing system bring-up activities.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and hardware debug skills in a Linux environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple engineering disciplines.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with server manufacturing test, failure analysis, or system qualification.
  • Experience developing debug and test automation tools using Python or similar scripting languages.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience processing and interpreting large sets of hardware validation or manufacturing test data.
  • Experience debugging PCIe, Ethernet, memory, power, or signal integrity issues using protocol or logic analyzers.
  • Experience supporting rack-scale AI, HPC, or data center platforms.
  • Experience supporting DevOps and IT infrastructure activities in engineering lab and test environments.

Responsibilities

  • Drive end-to-end debug activities, including issue triage, root cause analysis, and communication with stakeholders.
  • Investigate hardware, firmware, and software failures encountered during card, server, rack, and test fixture bring-up.
  • Gather, analyze, and correlate failure data to identify trends, isolate root causes, and drive corrective actions.
  • Develop, integrate, and document hardware and software bring-up, validation, and debug processes.
  • Design and enhance test automation infrastructure to improve debug efficiency, validation coverage, and test stability.
  • Execute validation plans and debug methodologies for accelerator cards, server platforms, Ethernet, PCIe, and high-speed I/O interfaces.
  • Create debug tools, test scripts, and diagnostic procedures to accelerate issue reproduction and resolution.
  • Prioritize and track issue resolution and communicate progress through regular updates on root causes, corrective actions, and overall status.

Benefits

  • competitive annual discretionary bonus program
  • opportunity for annual RSU grants
  • highly competitive benefits package
