About The Position

Senior Engineers, Radio Frequency located in Albuquerque, NM will serve as the lead technical resource for the engineering design and system performance of the GSM, LTE, and NR Radio Network. Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Supervise, monitor, and analyze statistical network performance data, and collect, process, and review drive test data. Work with the operations team and sales team to troubleshoot complex site network problems, review data to determine the cause of faulty equipment, and address customer complaints. Collaborate with RF Engineers to evaluate and resolve complex issues and update databases with the resolution or actions taken. Develop processes and strategic approaches to problem solving, devise inter- and intra-team processes for system performance, and serve as a KPI subject matter expert in order to improve network performance. Serve as a lead resource for coverage, capacity, and performance activities on GSM/LTE/NR and emerging technology theory. Define and develop internal processes used for radio network design, provide capacity planning and growth strategies, and participate with federal, state, and local jurisdictions to ensure regulatory and zoning compliance. Lead the development of testing and validation of RF feature plan proposals and define implementation guidelines for approved activities. Telecommuting is permitted, but applicant must work from the worksite location at least 3-4 days per week. No additional national or international travel is anticipated.

Requirements

  • Utilizing antenna theory, RF planning tools, capacity forecast data, and Site Design Process to perform advanced coverage and capacity planning for both macro sites and small cells and design new and upgraded outdoor and in-building GSM / LTE / NR sites.
  • Utilizing RAN theory, Ericsson OSS tools, and Radio Network Performance tools to evaluate and resolve complex GSM / LTE / NR network performance issues and conduct complex GSM / LTE / NR network optimization for both outdoor and indoor macro and small cells.
  • Leading the market RF roll-out of major projects and initiatives on network modernization, bandwidth upgrades, new carrier additions, and introductions of GSM, UMTS, and LTE macro and DAS sites into the network to support M2M and voice and data services.
  • Using knowledge acquired from current 3GPP technical specifications and technical documents from Ericsson libraries (ELEX) to make expert level engineering processes and procedures that can be used to optimize RAN KPIs for GSM, UMTS, and LTE radio access network.
  • Serving as an engineering liaison for sales and care teams to help understand customer pain points and implement fixes and improvements in GSM, UMTS, LTE, and NR radio access network.
  • Conducting root cause analysis by analyzing call flow messages using tools like Truecall, TEMS, and Ericsson Expert Analytics.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid U.S. driver’s license to perform job-related travel between work sites.
