About The Position

Pennoni Associates is seeking a Highway Project Manager/Engineer to work out of their Mechanicsburg, Pa office. This role involves managing the development of transportation infrastructure projects, including client coordination and internal staff collaboration for field work, design calculations, plan preparation, quantity calculations, and client submissions. The position is responsible for the overall development of all project facets, including supervising and mentoring staff in geometry design, cross sections, grading plans, erosion and sediment control, and hydrology/drainage calculations. Additionally, the role includes participating in proposal development and managing project scope, schedule, and budget.

Requirements

  • Experience/knowledge of PennDOT design criteria
  • Ability to plan, budget, and schedule preparation on all phases of an engineering design project using engineering principles.
  • Ability to work independently or with teams.
  • Experience working with clients, and teaming partners.
  • Efficient use of engineering software, including ORD and 3D modeling software.

Nice To Haves

  • 12+ years of transportation design experience.
  • PE License preferred.
  • Ability to work independently to solve engineering design issues and provide justification for the work, coordinate with internal staff as well as external clients and teaming partners.
  • Ability to provide direction to more junior level staff during project development.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall development of all facets of a project - supervise and mentor staff with the development of geometry design, cross sections, grading plans, erosion and sediment control, hydrology and drainage calculations.
  • Participate in the development of proposals and statements of interest for future projects.
  • Responsible for the scope, schedule and budget of the project.
