About The Position

Entegris is seeking a highly motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to design gas filter, diffuser, and purifier products. The role is within the Advanced Purity Solutions division of Entegris’ Micro-contamination Control division, which develops technologies supporting advanced semiconductor applications. The Senior Engineer will develop gas filter, diffuser, and point-of-use purifier products by conceiving, designing, and developing prototypes in coordination with the R&D Media Development Team and Operations. The role uses stage-gate processes for technology development and new product introduction, creating product designs, layouts, and documentation that meet requirements and support improvements to new and existing products. The engineer will collaborate with domestic and international company resources, vendors, and customers to advance concepts from prototype through production and validate product performance. The position involves hands-on testing and development, characterization of prototype performance, design and qualification of laboratory equipment and tooling, documentation, root cause analysis, and support for manufacturing improvement initiatives. Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 pounds and moving between office buildings in a campus-style work environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with at least 5 years of experience, or a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with at least 3 years of experience.
  • Strong data analysis skills using Excel and Minitab.
  • Strong AI/Copilot skills.
  • Knowledge or experience in engineering design practices, solid modeling, GD&T, and creating manufacturing drawings for prototype components.
  • Ability to design, fabricate, and qualify tooling and equipment used in product manufacturing and testing.
  • Ability to design and fabricate process and test equipment used for product testing or production.
  • Experience driving engineering deliverables through structured stage-gate processes, including requirements definition, concept evaluation, design freeze, prototype build, DFMEA/CFMEA, validation, and production readiness.
  • Ability to work independently and in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and across functional areas.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, customer-oriented environment.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds and move between different office buildings in a campus-style work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with ASME Section VIII or similar pressure vessel codes.
  • Professional Engineer certification, or the ability to obtain one.
  • Experience with CFD/FEA.
  • Experience with solid modeling; SolidWorks is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with machine shop tools, processes, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor hardware and systems.
  • Experience with filtration media, fluid dynamics, or high-purity gas systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technology development and new product introduction projects through the stage-gate process for component prototypes used in ultra-high-purity gas filtration, diffusion, and point-of-use purifier technology.
  • Conceptualize, design, and develop prototypes, with emphasis on high-purity processes and technologies.
  • Generate intellectual property and characterize prototype performance through structured testing, data analysis, and documented technical findings.
  • Design, build, and qualify laboratory equipment, fixtures, and tooling.
  • Support the evaluation, selection, and procurement of external capital equipment for product and process improvement initiatives.
  • Create and maintain drawings, SOPs, test procedures, and test data.
  • Perform hands-on testing and development tasks as needed.
  • Assist with root cause analysis of quality issues involving new and existing products.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives with the manufacturing department.
  • Collaborate with customers to define performance requirements, design and develop products, and validate performance through testing and modeling.
  • Move new concepts from prototype through production in collaboration with domestic and international company resources and vendors.
