Senior Engineer, Platform & Data

Mosaic Pediatric TherapyCharlotte, NC

About The Position

Mosaic Pediatric Therapy provides clinic-based and home-based ABA therapy for children with autism across North Carolina and Virginia. We are growing quickly, and we run an increasingly sophisticated internal technology ecosystem (e.g., custom applications, AI-assisted operational tools, agentic workflows, and a modern Azure-based Lakehouse) that supports clinical operations, billing, credentialing, and analytics. These systems handle protected health information (PHI) and sit in workflows where accuracy and compliance are non-negotiable. As adoption of AI coding tools like Claude Code accelerates across the organization, we need a senior technical operator who can help transform a growing collection of internal tools into a scalable, secure, and well-engineered platform ecosystem. This is a stewardship role with broad responsibility for agentic software engineering, data engineering, and DevOps. You will help establish the technical foundation for how internal software is built, deployed, integrated, secured, and maintained across the company. Part of the role involves helping operationalize software engineering standards, supporting internal builders using AI-assisted development tools, improving reliability and deployment practices, and helping design scalable infrastructure for a rapidly expanding internal application portfolio. But equally important will be owning and extending the data pipelines that underpin developed applications and that feed into our Azure Fabric Lakehouse environment. This is a highly cross-functional role that works directly with the VP of Data Science, Director of IT, and operational leadership across the business. The ideal candidate enjoys moving fluidly between architecture discussions, debugging production issues, designing data models, reviewing pull requests, deploying infrastructure, and helping non-traditional developers build high-quality internal tools safely and effectively.

Requirements

  • 4+ years building and supporting production software systems, data platforms, or cloud infrastructure
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals, including Git workflows, testing, modular architecture, debugging, and code review
  • Strong SQL and Python skills
  • Experience building and maintaining production ETL/ELT pipelines
  • Experience working in cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
  • Comfort operating across both application engineering and data engineering domains
  • Experience supporting or deploying internal operational software systems
  • Familiarity with modern AI-assisted development workflows and tools such as Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor, or similar environments
  • Understanding of security and governance principles for regulated or sensitive data environments
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to independently own technical systems end-to-end

Nice To Haves

  • DevOps or infrastructure-as-code experience
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and production deployment workflows
  • SQL Server administration experience
  • Experience in healthcare, ABA, EHR/EMR, claims, or other regulated environments
  • HIPAA, HITECH, HITRUST, SOC 2, or related compliance exposure

Responsibilities

  • Build and support the company's internal technical platform: Help establish engineering standards and operational practices for a growing ecosystem of internally developed applications and AI-enabled tools. Support internal builders using Claude Code and related AI development environments by providing guidance around source control, modular design, testing, deployment, documentation, and maintainability.
  • Improve software operations and production reliability: Help implement production-grade operational practices across internal systems, including monitoring, alerting, incident response, deployment workflows, environment management, uptime management, and post-incident review processes.
  • Own and extend the data platform: Maintain and expand the company’s Azure Fabric Lakehouse architecture across bronze, silver, and gold layers. Build and monitor ingestion pipelines, improve reliability and observability, resolve data quality issues, and help translate business questions into well-modeled reporting datasets and semantic layers.
  • Support internal analytics and operational stakeholders: Work directly with operational, billing, credentialing, and clinical leadership to support reporting requests, operational tooling, and scalable self-service data access.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k)
  • PTO and paid holidays
  • Remote-first flexibility
  • Equipment and tooling support
