About The Position

As a Senior Engineer on the Personalization Services team, you will build strong, lasting, and deep relationships with our customers by personalizing their Best Buy experience across all touchpoints including shopping, purchasing, membership and service engagements. In this role, you will leverage customer data and insights and implement experimentation to provide tailored experiences and services that meet customer’s unique needs and preferences. By focusing on improving relationships through defined metrics, you will aim to drive long-term loyalty and preference for Best Buy. This role is hybrid, which means you will work some days on site at a Best Buy location and some days virtually at home or another non-Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process. This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work on site Monday through Thursday at the Best Buy corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota. Requirements

  • 3 years of relevant Enterprise Software Engineering experience at scale
  • 3 years of development experience with Java, Spring, REST web services and similar technologies
  • 1 year of current/recent Cloud experience with GCP preferred or AWS

Nice To Haves

  • 6 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree OR equivalent relevant professional experience
  • 5 years of development experience with Java, Spring, REST web services and similar technologies
  • Experience with Cassandra, SQL and ETL transformations
  • Ability to build and optimize web applications and platforms in a cloud environment with a solid understanding of system design
  • Ability to collaborate with product managers
  • Ability to triage and manage complex, production issues
  • Experience building highly scalable and performing applications
  • Understand considerations for state, session management, caching, consistency, concurrency, threading, messaging, and inter-system dependencies

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the creation and presentation of technical designs
  • Lead in the delivery of complex solutions
  • Anticipate technical issues at the product level and make architectural and design decisions to avoid them
  • Lead and effectively triage complex issues across systems in many environments
  • Demonstrate creativity to take initiative in solving complex problems
