About The Position

The Process Engineer will work on DRAM manufacturing processes and be responsible for developing, sustaining, and optimizing manufacturing and assembly processes to improve product quality, reliability, yield, cost, and productivity. This role supports process troubleshooting, continuous improvement, new process qualification, supplier quality, and manufacturing risk reduction. The Process Engineer is also expected to leverage AI-enabled tools, data analytics, and digital ways of working, where applicable, to improve decision-making, accelerate problem solving, enhance process control, and support Micron’s AI transformation and future workforce needs.

Requirements

  • PhD in Engineering, Materials Science, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline; or Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related technical discipline with 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Experience in process engineering, manufacturing engineering, equipment engineering, or a related technical role.
  • Experience troubleshooting manufacturing or assembly process issues using structured problem-solving methods.
  • Experience of process improvement, yield improvement, process control, and cost reduction practices.
  • Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in semiconductor, electronics, assembly, or high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with SPC, FDC, RMS, APC, FMEA, 8D, DOE, or statistical process control methods.
  • Experience supporting new product introduction, process qualification, or process baseline validation.
  • Experience with equipment qualification, material evaluation, supplier audits, or supplier quality management.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, automation technologies, or advanced manufacturing systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, optimize, and sustain manufacturing and assembly processes to improve quality, reliability, yield, productivity, and cost.
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve process-related issues using root cause analysis, failure analysis, FMEA, 8D, SPC, and related methodologies.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on yield improvement, cost reduction, process stability, and risk mitigation.
  • Coordinate process, equipment, and material evaluations to qualify new processes, tools, and materials for manufacturing and new product introduction.
  • Support process control, supplier quality, site-to-site portability, and internal/external audit activities.
