About The Position

Venture Global LNG is seeking a Senior Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to join their project team in Cameron, LA. This position is based out of the Calcasieu Pass LNG 2 (CP2) facility and will report to the Director of Engineering. The role involves providing technical authority for site I&C design and installation, ensuring contractor adherence to project standards, and offering design solutions for facility upgrades and modifications. The engineer will also assist commissioning and operations teams with troubleshooting control system issues, participate in PSSR close-outs and walk-downs, review system progress, and approve material substitutions and temporary modifications. Additionally, the role requires providing input to weekly site engineering reports.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 year’s experience working with instrumentation and control systems.
  • Experience with Plant Instrumented Control and Safety Systems (e.g. Distributed Control Systems (Mark VIe & Yokogawa), Safety Systems (Mark VIe, Yokogawa, HIMA), Fire and Gas Systems, and Programmable Logic Controllers (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Emerson/GE, etc.))
  • Experience with Operational Technology Networks, Firewalls and Cyber Security
  • Experience with Field Instrumentation for process measurement (e.g. Pressure, Temperature, Level, Flow, etc.) Control Valves, Shutdown Valves (Air, Gas, and Motor Operated), Analyzers (H2S, Moisture, etc.) Gas Chromatographs, Flow Metering Systems (Ultrasonic, Coriolis, Differential Pressure, etc.) and their transmission systems (e.g. 4-20mA, Hart, ProfiBus, etc.)
  • Experience with Alarm Management Systems including Management of Alarm databases and audits against Operating systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Chemical, Electronics, or Computer Engineering, preferably with specialization in Process Control, Control systems, and Instrumentation.

  • Experience in LNG liquefaction facilities

Responsibilities

  • I&C MOC/HAZOP/RFI signoff
  • Site I&C design/installation technical authority
  • Ensure contractor adheres to project standards
  • Provide design solution to upgrades and modifications on existing facilities
  • Assist Commissioning and operation teams to troubleshoot and isolate control system issues

  • Review progress of assigned systems
  • Review and approve bulk material substitutions (cables, cable glands, tubing, tubing fittings, etc.)
  • Review and approve temporary modifications to I&C equipment
  • Provides input to weekly site engineering report
