Senior Engineer, In-Car Visualization
About The Position
Motional is seeking a Senior Engineer to contribute to customer-facing and internal visualization. The engineer will develop and refine an existing codebase spanning many aspects of autonomous vehicles, with an emphasis on ramping up quickly and taking ownership of their own and the team’s code. The role involves designing and implementing visualization solutions for Motional’s customers, contributing to internal and on-vehicle visualization applications, and working in a product-driven environment to ship and iterate quickly. The engineer will collaborate across disciplines and help establish practices for automated UI testing, performance, scalability, and maintainability. The position also involves designing experiences for complex, data-heavy workflows and working directly with customers to identify their needs.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in C++ or Java.
- Clear communication skills and cross-functional capabilities.
- Ability to work with high ownership and autonomy.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to mentor and delegate to engineers at various levels of seniority.
- Established habits in technical design and documentation.
- Capability to work directly with customers to identify needs.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience with autonomous vehicles.
- Proficiency in Kotlin.

- Experience in game development or 3D visualization.
- Understanding of what distinguishes good UX flow from bad.
Responsibilities
- Own, architect, and implement visualization solutions for Motional’s customers.
- Collaborate with teams and disciplines including Autonomy, Perception, and Mapping.
- Contribute to internal and on-vehicle applications that handle visualization.
