About The Position

The Sr Engineer I, Electrical Projects, is responsible for overseeing the electrical systems design for onshore wind, solar, and storage projects in development. This role provides engineering project support during pre-construction, construction, and turnover to Operations, ensuring grid code compliance and interconnection requirements are met. The position involves the specification and evaluation of major balance of plant electrical equipment, performing power system modeling and studies, and coordinating project engineering topics during construction. It also includes managing 3rd party engineering consultants and coordinating with internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. A key aspect of this role is ensuring the highest level of health, safety, and environmental standards are incorporated into designs and supporting the development of electrical engineering standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited college engineering program or equivalent
  • Minimum 6 years of professional experience (post-undergraduate) in electrical engineering.
  • Specific areas of experience and competency include transmission design, substation design, collection and distribution design, major equipment specification, power system studies, and system protection and control
  • Experience in renewable generation (wind turbine, solar PV, and BESS storage) project design is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage customer relationships
  • Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams
  • Strong leadership and communication, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables
  • Ability to multi-task while working independently and as part of a team
  • Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities
  • Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds
  • Responds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachable
  • Is detail-oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business concepts
