About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Engineer I - Component to support and drive the development, qualification, and management of critical suppliers and components used in advanced manufacturing and semiconductor-related assemblies. This role is ideal for a Mechanical Engineer with a strong Materials Science background who thrives at engineering, supplier quality, and manufacturing processes. You will play a key role in ensuring reliability, supplier performance, and material/process integrity across the supply base.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or related field
5 – 7 years of experience in engineering, supplier quality and manufacturing
Strong background in materials science and process–material interactions
U.S. Export Controls Requirements: This job requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by the export laws of the United States. Candidates are required to provide proof of either US citizenship, Permanent US residency or classification as a protected individual as defined in 8 USC 1324b (a) (3).

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree or MBA
3-5 years’ experience
Experience in semiconductor, aerospace, or high-reliability manufacturing environments
Familiarity with hermetic packaging and microelectronics assembly
Knowledge of electroless and electrolytic plating of electronic packaging
Knowledge of common semiconductor industry standards
Experience conducting supplier audits
Proficiency with CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD)

Responsibilities

Strong previous experience as a technical lead for suppliers, driving performance in quality, delivery, and root cause and corrective action planning.
Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, with a focus on continuous improvement, improving lead times and risk mitigation.
Lead supplier qualification, audits, and capability assessments for new and existing vendors.
Ensure that all supplied products meet mechanical, thermal, and material performance requirements.
Review and approve drawings, specifications, and material/process requirements.
Lead or support root cause investigations related to supplier quality issues.
Develop and maintain specifications, qualification reports, and supplier documentation.
Ensure compliance with applicable industry and customer standards (e.g., MIL, IPC).
