About The Position

Create technical requirements for power component hardware and software to deliver the necessary functionality. Conduct detailed design reviews with suppliers and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure correct component functionality and system integration. Conduct quality assurance reviews including FMEAs and risk assessments. Serve as the technical owner for components and lead cross-functional interactions within the company, both locally and globally. Provide root cause analysis and quality improvement activities related to power components by identifying root cause and corrective actions required. Support the development and design for improvement of components, systems, costs, or assembly/manufacturing methods. Support the transition from the traditional 12VDC power system applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field and 5 years of experience developing electrical or electronics components or systems.
  • 5 years of experience collaborating with purchasing teams, project managers, and product owners to establish targets for user functionality, component requirements, cost, and quality.
  • 5 years of experience coaching less experienced members of the team in agile practices and EE component engineering techniques.
  • 5 years of experience ensuring solutions are verified and validated against feature requests, technical requirements, and applicable regulations for current and future years.
  • Master’s or foreign equivalent degree in the aforementioned fields and 3 years of experience as stated (in lieu of bachelor's and 5 years experience).
  • 2 years of experience working with simulated production test environments to generate and test product configurations.
  • Experience developing and supporting electrical hardware to fulfill end-user functions specific to North American truck markets in Power Management and HMI hardware or closely related focus areas.
  • Experience specifying technical requirements for power management and hardware HMI components supplier to meet quality, functionality, and cost needs.
  • Experience working with model-based requirements management systems, functional safety IS026262 components, automotive industry electrical ISO/SAE standards, low voltage and traction voltage systems, automotive communication protocols J1939, J1587, and LIN, and Vector CANalyzer and Canoe.
  • Experience working with stakeholders to develop roadmaps for future initiatives pertaining to North American truck market.
