In the Global Facilities Engineering group at Micron, you will work as an Electrical Engineer and provide technical expertise for planning, developing, building, operating, and maintaining key electrical infrastructure. This role highlights advancing standardization, innovation, reliability, performance, and sustainability. You will partner with site facilities teams, manufacturing departments, and corporate partners to support ongoing operations and upcoming growth initiatives. You will provide expert insight into semiconductor facility electrical systems, including high-, medium-, and low-voltage power distribution, critical power systems, backup generation, UPS systems, sag mitigation, lighting, variable frequency drives, and manufacturing tool power infrastructure. This position offers the opportunity to influence global engineering standards, significant capital projects, operational enhancement initiatives, and sustainability programs within a worldwide semiconductor manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field.
  • 4+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, industrial facilities, critically important infrastructure, or related engineering environments.
  • Technical knowledge in electrical power systems, including high-, medium-, and low-voltage distribution, emergency power systems, UPS systems, protection systems, and industrial electrical infrastructure.
  • Experience using digital technologies, data analytics, AI-integrated tools, or automation solutions to improve engineering efficiency, decision-making, and operational performance.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or equivalent practical experience in Electrical Engineering or a related area.
  • Power engineering specialization and experience supporting semiconductor manufacturing facilities.
  • Experience developing engineering standards, specifications, reliability programs, or global standard procedures within a multi-site organization.
  • Knowledge of electrical system capacity planning, infrastructure expansion projects, and large-scale development and construction programs.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally up to 15% on average and up to 25% during major project phases or critical site activities.
  • Experience and/or interest in developing Agentic AI workflows into current or future processes.

Responsibilities

  • Function as the international technical specialist for electrical infrastructure systems, delivering engineering recommendations and help to facilities and manufacturing divisions throughout Micron's network.
  • Develop, maintain, and promote adoption of global engineering standards, specifications, well-established methods (BKMs), and building guidelines to ensure consistency and alignment across sites.
  • Support the planning, development, and execution of major facilities infrastructure and expansion projects, including build reviews, technical evaluations, scope definition, and construction support.
  • Evaluate electrical system performance, reliability, capacity, and operational trends to identify improvement opportunities that improve efficiency, reduce risk, and optimize cost.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts and root cause analyses for complex electrical system issues, using industry-standard engineering methodologies and tools.
  • Partner with multi-functional collaborators including Manufacturing, Technology Development, Procurement, Finance, Legal, and external engineering consultants to achieve project and operational objectives.
  • Lead and support global initiatives related to reliability, operational excellence, sustainability, and continuous improvement, incorporating lessons learned and industry standard processes.
  • Keep up to date with developments in technology, AI-powered solutions, digital tools, industry trends, and electrical engineering breakthroughs to enhance engineering efficiency and business results.
