About The Position

FIXD Automotive, through its brand AppraisalPRO, is seeking a senior-level, backend-oriented full-stack engineer. This role involves taking ownership of a product, setting technical direction, and driving features from conception to production. The ideal candidate will be analytical, data-driven, and capable of communicating technical concepts to stakeholders. They should also enjoy interacting with customers, understanding their workflows, and translating that into product improvements. This position offers autonomy within a small, fast-moving team and the opportunity to elevate teammates as the company grows.

Requirements

5+ years building production web applications with Ruby on Rails and RSpec
JavaScript/TypeScript and React experience
PostgreSQL experience
Familiarity with building and consuming REST APIs
Comfortable using AI coding tools to work efficiently

Nice To Haves

React Native or mobile development experience
Exposure to GraphQL
B2B SaaS product experience
Ability to ask the right questions about complicated tasks

Responsibilities

Own AppraisalPRO end-to-end (backend, frontend, mobile app) and take a leading role in shaping the product and platform.
Carry features from idea to production with autonomy.
Build and maintain AppraisalPRO across the stack, including the Rails backend, APIs, dealer-facing web app, and React Native mobile app.
Own key architectural decisions and help set the technical direction.
Contribute to the API and SDK for the developer platform.
Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and translate them into features.
Design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain backend and frontend features.
Work closely with product management to deliver features and provide feedback on feasibility and timelines.
Write and maintain reliable Ruby and JavaScript/TypeScript code.
Create integrations with third-party APIs and services.
