Requirements

  • Minimum BS degree in a related field. EE is preferred, but not required
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience leading in a high tech company. Minimum of 4 years of experience in automotive, medical or aerospace electronics
  • Must have excellent skills in communication, organization and work independently under direction.
  • Possess good planning, analysis, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic circuits, components, PCBs and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of internal and external customers and/or suppliers
  • Expert knowledge in many aspects of the physics of failure of PCBs, and/or electronic components.
  • Familiarity with Military Electronics Standards, such as MIL-PRF-38534 or MIL-PRF-19500

Responsibilities

  • Familiar with the use of failure analysis equipment and techniques i.e. SEM, EDX, Photoemission, FIB, Thermal Imaging, Auger Analysis, CSAM, Plasma Etching, Curve Tracer and other advance techniques used in failure analysis
  • Able to understand microcircuit device layout and circuit technology for the devices submitted for FA
  • Monitor FRACA/IFact system to initiate and schedule workload of failure analysis. Define course of analysis for failed components to identify failure mode using non-destructive and destructive techniques
  • Duties include testing and diagnosing products, electrical analysis, mechanical deconstruction utilizing cutting, polishing, and etching equipment
  • Interface with factory and offer advice/guidance on technical matters relating to failure analysis of product
  • Initiate Corrective and Preventative Action through the company concerning product deficiencies
  • Create customized reports, compile trend analysis, prepare presentation materials, conduct meetings, and inputs into FRACA/IFact system as required
