About The Position

As an Equipment Training Engineer, you will demonstrate a strong sense of reliability and enthusiasm and will possess an attitude that embodies our core values – Integrity, Commitment, Innovation and Customer Trust. As an Equipment Training Engineer at the Fab21 (F21) Component Training Center, you will be the hands-on technical mentor who shapes the next generation of semiconductor talent. On a daily basis, you transition between being an instructional leader, a technical expert, and an equipment owner. You will run intensive, simulator-based training labs across 9 core technical domains—ranging from RF systems and vacuum technology to chemical wet cleans and robotics. When you aren't actively teaching new engineers how to safely handle tools and troubleshoot machine alarms, you are responsible for maintaining and calibrating the center's highly specialized training systems to ensure perfect operational readiness. Additionally, you will collaborate with key hardware vendors to integrate cutting-edge technologies into the classroom, while aligning your training curriculum with HQ standards to ensure all engineering graduates are factory-ready and certified to work in the cleanroom.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods during hands-on training instruction.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and manipulate training equipment, mechanical kits, and hand tools (up to 25 lbs).
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions (gripping, turning, calibrating) during equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to work in a training center environment with exposure to industrial equipment noise, compressed gases, RF radiation, and chemical agents used in wet-clean demonstrations.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods during curriculum design, documentation, and office-based work.
  • Ability to use a computer, keyboard, and mouse for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to wear appropriate PPE including cleanroom garments (gowning) when entering or demonstrating cleanroom-adjacent environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in semiconductor equipment engineering, process engineering, or technical training.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree
  • 1 year of practical experience in semiconductor equipment engineering, process engineering, or technical training (if with master's degree)
  • Hands-on experience or official certifications from major semiconductor equipment manufacturers (e.g., Applied Materials, ASML, Lam Research, TEL) or key component suppliers.
  • Proven track record as an internal trainer, technical instructor, or equipment mentor in a high-volume semiconductor manufacturing environment.
  • Deep expertise in RF matching networks, advanced vacuum leak detection, or robot calibration and teaching.
  • Experience in developing simulator-based training modules, e-learning platforms, or interactive virtual reality (VR) training tools.
  • Proficient in semiconductor core components, cleanroom safety, and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead intensive, hands-on technical training and practical troubleshooting courses across nine core domains: RF, Vacuum, Wet Clean, Chiller, Transfer System, t-Loadport, Gas, Heater, and Hand Tools.
  • Guide trainees to master component-level working principles and execute simulator-based diagnostics while strictly enforcing cleanroom SOPs.
  • Perform hands-on preventative maintenance, daily inspections, calibration, and troubleshooting of the training center's specialized tools, instructional mechanical kits, and simulator equipment to maintain peak operational readiness and safety.
  • Design, develop, and optimize training courses, instructional materials, and simulator-based fault scenarios.
  • Assess trainee learning curves, provide constructive evaluation and feedback, and act as a mentor to help new hires adapt to the corporate culture.
  • Collaborate with key equipment and hardware component vendors to co-develop advanced technical modules, introduce emerging component technologies, and coordinate vendor-led technical seminars.
  • Partner with Headquarters (HQ) training divisions to leverage, localize, and integrate corporate training guidelines and certification standards, ensuring all local training remains fully aligned with global requirements.
