About The Position

The electric grid is undergoing significant transformation due to increased electricity demand, new generation technologies, evolving regulations, and the growth of data centers. This role is central to addressing these changes by partnering with GE Vernova business units, utilities, independent power producers, and developers to solve complex technical challenges in power system planning, construction, and operation. The position involves day-to-day execution of a consulting practice, including managing project portfolios, customer relationships, proposals, resource planning, and commercial performance. The work environment is fast-paced with high expectations and tight deadlines, requiring close collaboration with experienced engineers and technical contributions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in power systems, power generation, or utility consulting.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex technical projects.
  • Strong customer-facing communication skills.
  • Experience developing technical proposals and project estimates.
  • Working knowledge of power system analysis and turbine/generator/power plant operations and performance.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 40% of the time domestically and internationally.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project schedules, resource loading, and execution risks.
  • Drive revenue by managing billing milestones and ensuring projects progress toward invoicing.
  • Monitor backlog, forecast execution, and identify schedule conflicts before they impact customers.
  • Support business planning, operational metrics, and reporting.
  • Serve as an operational interface for North American customers.
  • Lead project kickoff meetings and regular execution reviews.
  • Manage customer expectations around schedules, deliverables, and commercial milestones.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing customer relationships.
  • Coordinate with Sales to transition opportunities into successful project execution.
  • Work directly with Sales and Com Ops to develop technical and commercial proposals.
  • Define project scope, schedules, staffing plans, and effort estimates.
  • Collaborate with engineering resources to develop accurate cost estimates.
  • Support strategic pursuits and key customer opportunities.
  • Execute consulting projects as an individual contributor.
  • Perform or support power system studies, generator testing, dynamic model validation, grid code compliance assessments, and technical report development.
  • Maintain sufficient technical depth to support customers and mentor junior engineers.
  • Build trust with the engineering team through technical contribution.
  • Demonstrate strong operational decision making.
  • Improve execution processes and business efficiency.
  • Mentor junior engineers.
