About The Position

We are seeking a Professional Senior Engineer specializing in Avionics Systems, specifically for the DAD (Delegation of Authority) role. This position is based in Dorval, QC, with potential for work in Montreal, Quebec, Toronto, Ontario, or various locations in the United States. The role involves a hybrid work schedule, requiring two days per week onsite. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aircraft avionics system design, testing, integration, and certification, with a deep understanding of relevant regulations and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Current DAD/DAR status or ability to obtain DAD/DAR status preferred (Transport Canada AWM 505 Delegation of Authority).
  • Working relationship with Transport Canada (TCCA), EASA, or FAA.
  • Knowledge of FAR Part 25 avionics regulations and certification requirements.
  • Knowledge of RTCA, ARP, and other applicable avionics certification standards.
  • Extensive experience with aircraft avionics system design, testing, integration, and certification.
  • Experience with Auto Flight Control Systems (AFCS).
  • Experience with Communication systems (VHF, HF, SATCOM, Datalink).
  • Experience with Navigation systems (ADF, VOR, ILS, DME, TCAS, Transponder, IRS, GPS, FMS, Weather Radar).
  • Experience with Display systems (EFIS, EICAS, HUD, SVS).
  • Experience with Information, maintenance, and recording systems (IMS, OMS, Data Load, CVR, FDR, AHMS).
  • Knowledge and/or experience with Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA).
  • Familiarity with DO-178, DO-160, DO-254, ARP4754, ARP4761.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, planning, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

  • Manage system and subsystem requirements for certification and airworthiness compliance.
  • Work with suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Support certification testing, inspections, audits, and compliance reporting.
  • Develop certification plans and work with regulatory authorities.
  • Support production, final assembly, and in-service aircraft issues.
  • Design, test, integrate, and certify aircraft avionics systems.
