About The Position

This is a technical customer facing role within the Quality Organization supporting Automotive customers based in North America to provide leading edge automotive applications using the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon, Modem and 5G technology. Focus on in-region Automotive customers for Qualcomm products from customer development, mass production to field returns. Provide world class quality support to address quality issues and customer returns. Work with Automotive customers and Qualcomm internal teams to support customer APQP, required to bring up new products (Including documentation, risk assessment etc.). Work closely with Customer Engineering / Applications teams to enable customer new product introduction and feedback issues to Qualcomm quality organization. Build strong relationships with customers. Be prepared to advocate for Customers to Qualcomm internal teams and likewise protect Qualcomm interests when facing customers. Cooperate with global teams to drive worldwide Auto quality strategy implementation. Work closely with regional teams to drive approval and adoption of Qualcomm PCNs. Survey key customers frequently for quality KPIs including business reviews. Feed customer intelligence to Qualcomm i.e. regional requirements, risks and opportunities. Support offshore facilities of worldwide customers. Support continuous improvement of Qualcomm Automotive Quality systems and processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 1+ year of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
  • PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field.
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in physics, electronics, or a related discipline is required.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in the Automotive industry ideally in a customer facing role.
  • Understanding of including wafer fabrication, assembly, and testing.
  • Hands on experience of using diagnostic equipment such as oscilloscope, curve trace, CSA.
  • Understanding of Electrically induced Physical Damage (EIPD).
  • Experienced in driving problem solving teams using 8D Methodology and related tools.
  • Able to analyze complex data from multiple sources to identify critical trends, make informed decisions and address highly complex issues.
  • Able to summarize and communicate complex information in an accurate and timely manner. Adapts communication style to audiences and makes persuasive recommendations.
  • Proficiency in verbal and written English.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of PPAP / APQP / IATF 16949 / AEC standards.
  • Experience in auditing and being audited.
  • Knowledge and experience of quality tools and reliability.
  • Knowledge of CMOS Manufacturing, construction, and deconstruction.
  • Knowledge of IC assembly methods / processes.
  • Familiarity with Digital & Mixed signal test systems and method.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skill with customer and internal team, must be persistent and determined, can manage difficult conversations.
  • Confident and flexible Self-starter– desire to do what is needed to address a customer issue.
  • Available for frequent domestic and oversea travel.
