About the position
Rightfoot is a fintech company focused on addressing the significant issue of consumer debt, which amounts to over $14.56 trillion. They aim to develop APIs that can integrate debt repayment into various products. The company's mission is to maximize wealth for underrepresented populations, particularly women and historically marginalized groups who hold a disproportionate amount of debt. Rightfoot is seeking a Senior Engineer to contribute to the development of novel payment rails and real-time credit data and payment solutions. Responsibilities
- Develop and scale life-changing technology for millions of people in the fintech industry
- Integrate debt repayment into any product by developing APIs
- Standardize and streamline debt payments by integrating with loan servicers
- Improve underwriting, prevent defaults, and engage customers at the individual level through real-time data and smart payment technology
- Empower financial institutions to bring smart debt management and repayment to any product through scalable APIs
- Thrive in an ambiguous environment and have a growth mindset

- Think like owners and go outside of the role to move the team forward
- Work directly with engineers and executives to define a new space in fintech

Requirements
- Experience in fintech or financial services industry
- Strong understanding of consumer debt and payment systems
- Familiarity with loan servicers and their backend systems
- Ability to develop novel payment rails
- Knowledge of real-time credit data and smart payment technology
- Experience with underwriting and preventing defaults
- Ability to engage customers at an individual level
- Familiarity with financial institutions and their APIs
- Grit, adaptability, and resourcefulness
- Ownership mindset and willingness to go beyond assigned role
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
