About The Position

The Jewish Federation of Cincinnati (JFC) is seeking a Senior Engagement Manager to play a key role in fostering a sense of belonging and engaging community members during meaningful life stages. This role is crucial in strengthening the Jewish Peoplehood and Engagement strategies for the community. The Senior Engagement Manager is a full-time employee who will serve as a thought partner in refocusing the Jewish Peoplehood strategy, collaborate with community partners to develop teen engagement opportunities, oversee the Cincy Journeys grant program, and supervise the Senior Community Shaliach. This position is part of the Community Planning and Engagement Department and reports to the Director of Leadership and Engagement.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of global Jewish peoplehood and Israel.
  • Background or experience in Jewish camping preferred.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in education or experience working in a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and follow-through.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a thought partner in refocusing the Jewish Peoplehood strategy.
  • Collaborate with community partners to develop and enhance teen engagement opportunities.
  • Oversee the $1.2 million Cincy Journeys grant program for overnight Jewish camp and Israel travel experiences and connect those experiences to a broader community strategy.
  • Supervise the Senior Community Shaliach.
  • Share responsibility for the Chaverim M’Israel program alongside the Senior Community Shaliach.
  • Use quantitative community data, qualitative input from community members and agencies, and national trends to inform strategies that fulfill long-term outcomes in Jewish peoplehood and sense of belonging.
  • Supervise all aspects of the Senior Community Shaliach role, including making connections, helping with programming, and supporting their family.
  • Act as the primary thought leader for the Cincy Journeys program, ensuring it propels the C2030 Refocus Engagement strategy.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the Cincy Journeys program, acting as both the external community liaison and internal coordinator.
  • Promote the Cincy Journeys program throughout the community.
  • Build and maintain relationships with camps and trip providers for Cincy Journeys.
  • Support families and participants through the Cincy Journeys application and participation process.
  • Collect and analyze program data, track trends, and prepare annual grant reports for Cincy Journeys.
  • Identify and recommend national best practices and innovative ideas to strengthen the Cincy Journeys program locally.
  • Run the Camp Fellows professional development program.
  • Support the Chaverim M’Israel program by overseeing logistical and administrative components, including hiring and onboarding participants, recruiting and supporting host families, coordinating schedules and program logistics, and serving as the primary liaison with the Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI).
  • Support the C2030 Refocus Community Strategic Plan priority focused on strengthening Jewish engagement among youth and teens by collaborating with community partners.
  • Support the Israel Partnership by helping to lead the local steering committee and assisting with programs.
