About The Position

We're looking for a Senior Employee Relations Consultant to join our high-performing Human Resources team at Mater Newstead. In this pivotal role, you'll partner with leaders across the organisation to navigate complex employee relations matters, provide expert advice, and help shape workplace strategies that drive meaningful outcomes.

Requirements

• Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
• Extensive experience managing complex employee relations matters
• Strong knowledge of employment legislation, awards, industrial agreements, and ER frameworks
• Exceptional communication, coaching, influencing, and negotiation skills
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capability
• Strong report writing, research, and stakeholder management skills
• The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Experience working within a large, complex organisation will be highly regarded

Responsibilities

• Providing expert advice on employee and industrial relations matters
• Managing complex cases including performance, grievances, disciplinary matters, complaints, and ill or injured worker cases
• Coaching and supporting leaders through challenging people situations
• Conducting and supporting workplace investigations and recommending practical solutions
• Interpreting awards, enterprise agreements, legislation, and organisational policies
• Developing and delivering ER training programs
• Contributing to HR projects, policy development, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Building strong relationships across the organisation as a trusted advisor and business partner
