About The Position

Consult Red is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer with strong RDK-B and Wi-Fi experience to work on a client engagement in Denver, Colorado. This is a six-month contract role, 100% onsite at the client's Denver office, with the potential to extend. The role focuses on designing, developing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and validating embedded software for Linux-based and RDK platforms.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional embedded software development experience.
• C/C++ programming experience.
• RDK-B and Wi-Fi experience, including packet analysis, security modes, configuration, and hostapd concepts.
• Linux experience, including BusyBox, Bash, and scripting.
• Networking knowledge, including OCS concepts and DHCP, DNS, NTP, subnets, and VLANs.
• Debugging experience with memory debugging tools, GDB, Bash scripts, packet capture, Wireshark, and network services.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
• Local to Denver, Colorado; relocation assistance is not available.

• Yocto experience, including recipes, manifests, and build concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software components using C/C++.
• Develop and troubleshoot software on Linux-based embedded platforms.
• Analyze and resolve complex issues involving networking, Wi-Fi connectivity, and system performance.
• Investigate software defects using debugging and diagnostic tools.
• Perform packet captures and network traffic analysis to identify root causes of issues.
• Develop scripts and automation tools to support testing, troubleshooting, and system validation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Contribute to software architecture, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support integration, validation, and deployment activities across RDK-based platforms.
