About The Position
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our team. This role involves developing C++ for safety-critical avionics systems, working with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS), and integrating software in both lab and hardware environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in embedded application development and experience with specific communication protocols. This position requires the ability to obtain a security clearance and work onsite 100% with occasional travel.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent in a STEM discipline
- 5+ years of embedded software development experience
- C++ development for safety-critical avionics systems
- Real-Time Operating Systems (MOSA.ic, VxWorks, Integrity)
- Embedded application development using RTOS and Windows environments
- Prior SW Development and Integration experience utilizing MIL-STD-1553 & Ethernet communication protocols
- Software integration & test in lab and hardware environments
- Ability to obtain a security clearance
- Ability to work onsite 100%
- Ability to travel 10%
Nice To Haves
- Active Secret Security Clearance
- Experience utilizing Greenhills ARINC 653/APEX API
- Experience developing software for Electronic Warfare and Self Protection Systems ((ALQ-213, ALE-47, AN/AAR-47, AN/ALR-56M)
- Familiarity with software requirements development utilizing IBM DOORS
- CI/CD Pipeline experience
- Experience with Wireshark and Lua script plugins
- Experience with safety-critical software development and practices (DO-178C)
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Responsibilities
- Develop C++ for safety-critical avionics systems.
- Utilize Real-Time Operating Systems (MOSA.ic, VxWorks, Integrity).
- Perform embedded application development using RTOS and Windows environments.
- Integrate software using MIL-STD-1553 & Ethernet communication protocols.
- Conduct software integration and testing in lab and hardware environments.
- Update and review software documentation (SRS/IRS, SDD/IDD, STP, STD, STR, etc).
- Perform hardware/software integration and troubleshooting.
- Communicate and document complex technical designs.
- Work in a collaborative and team-based environment.
- Utilize Atlassian Tools (Confluence, JIRA, Bitbucket, etc.).
- Manage version control and issue tracking (Gitlab, Atlassian suite).
