About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our team. This role involves developing C++ for safety-critical avionics systems, working with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS), and integrating software in both lab and hardware environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in embedded application development and experience with specific communication protocols. This position requires the ability to obtain a security clearance and work onsite 100% with occasional travel.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent in a STEM discipline
  • 5+ years of embedded software development experience
  • C++ development for safety-critical avionics systems
  • Real-Time Operating Systems (MOSA.ic, VxWorks, Integrity)
  • Embedded application development using RTOS and Windows environments
  • Prior SW Development and Integration experience utilizing MIL-STD-1553 & Ethernet communication protocols
  • Software integration & test in lab and hardware environments
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Ability to work onsite 100%
  • Ability to travel 10%

Nice To Haves

  • Active Secret Security Clearance
  • Experience utilizing Greenhills ARINC 653/APEX API
  • Experience developing software for Electronic Warfare and Self Protection Systems ((ALQ-213, ALE-47, AN/AAR-47, AN/ALR-56M)
  • Familiarity with software requirements development utilizing IBM DOORS
  • CI/CD Pipeline experience
  • Experience with Wireshark and Lua script plugins
  • Experience with safety-critical software development and practices (DO-178C)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills

Responsibilities

  • Develop C++ for safety-critical avionics systems.
  • Utilize Real-Time Operating Systems (MOSA.ic, VxWorks, Integrity).
  • Perform embedded application development using RTOS and Windows environments.
  • Integrate software using MIL-STD-1553 & Ethernet communication protocols.
  • Conduct software integration and testing in lab and hardware environments.
  • Update and review software documentation (SRS/IRS, SDD/IDD, STP, STD, STR, etc).
  • Perform hardware/software integration and troubleshooting.
  • Communicate and document complex technical designs.
  • Work in a collaborative and team-based environment.
  • Utilize Atlassian Tools (Confluence, JIRA, Bitbucket, etc.).
  • Manage version control and issue tracking (Gitlab, Atlassian suite).
