About The Position

Treetown Tech seeks Senior Embedded Software Engineers to join their multi-disciplinary engineering team in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This is a hybrid remote position offering schedule flexibility and the opportunity to work from home several days per week and dependent upon project needs. Requirements

  • 5 or more years’ experience developing embedded software required.
  • Experience and proficiency with C or C++ programming required; Python a bonus.
  • Good understanding of low-level microcontroller programming.
  • Passion for developing quality software and software development methodologies.
  • Experience programming and debugging microcontrollers on PCBs.
  • Ability to work directly with end-users and customers.
  • Collaborative nature that enjoys an R&D and prototyping environment that allows you to work as part of a team of experts as well be an active individual contributor.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Unit Test and CI/CD tool chains for embedded development preferred.
  • Experience with tools like MATLAB/Simulink and Stateflow for developing, simulating, and validating control algorithms is a bonus.
  • Embedded Linux experience working with tools such as YOCTO or Buildroot is a bonus.
  • Experience with web frameworks (Django, Flask, React, Vue.js, etc..) is a bonus.
  • Experience working with relational databases (i.e., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle) and/or ORMs (i.e., ODB, Django, SQLAlchemy) is a bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop embedded software for innovative R&D projects in both the consumer and military space.
  • Work closely with the software department and project teams to solve problems, design software architecture, and transfer knowledge.
  • Test and debug new and existing platforms.
  • Software documentation and version control.
  • Design and develop Windows and Linux based software test verification tools.
