About The Position

We are seeking a motivated Senior Embedded Electronics Engineer to join our mission-based R&D team focused on power electronics, protection, control, and conversion of AC, DC, and hybrid systems. We pioneer technologies, incubate new markets, and influence industry standards by conceiving and developing products and systems, and delivering industry certified solutions. Our team is developing and implementing the next generation of electrical distribution technologies to enable a safer, more resilient, efficient, and sustainable energy future.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field) and 5+ years of experience in electronics or power electronics product development; Master's or PhD preferred
  • Proven experience taking products from innovation through commercialization in regulated or safety-critical markets
  • Strong expertise in schematic capture and multilayer PCB layout experience using Cadence, Allegro, OrCAD, Altium, or similar ECAD tools.
  • Experience with power electronics, protection devices, embedded systems, microcontrollers, real-time control systems, and communication protocols including UART, SPI, I²C, and CAN
  • Expertise in circuit simulation and analysis tools such as PLECS, SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, or equivalent, with knowledge of EMC/EMI best practices and product validation methodologies
  • Experience or knowledge in one or more of the following areas: solid-state or hybrid circuit breakers, FMPS/Class 4 Power, DC protection systems, electronic trip units, arc fault or ground fault protection, software-defined power delivery, SiC/GaN power devices, converter topologies, UL 489I, UL 1400-1/1400-2, and applicable IEC standards

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electronic hardware for solid-state circuit breakers, hybrid protection systems, Fault Managed Power Systems (FMPS), and advanced power conversion products.
  • Own the product development lifecycle from concept and architecture through requirements, schematic capture, PCB layout, validation, certification, and commercialization
  • Develop robust analog, digital, and mixed-signal electronics designs with emphasis on reliability, validation, manufacturability, and EMC performance.
  • Design and implement protection, sensing, fault detection, interruption, current limiting, communication, and control functions using simulation and modeling
  • Collaborate with firmware, software, systems, mechanical, manufacturing, and certification teams while contributing to innovation: intellectual property, technical publications, and standards activities
