About The Position

Motorola Solutions, a global community focused on keeping people safer, is seeking a Senior Electronics Test Engineer for its subsidiary, Silvus Technologies. Silvus Technologies specializes in advanced MANET and MIMO communications systems for mission-critical applications. This role is crucial for testing digital hardware for Silvus’ StreamCaster MANET product line, ensuring vital communications links for defense, law enforcement, and public safety agencies. The position is 100% onsite, Monday through Friday, in West Los Angeles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant hardware test experience.
  • Hands-on experience using test equipment such as bench top power supplies, electronic loads, oscilloscopes, thermal chambers.
  • Experience with digital interfaces such as RS-232, USB 2.0, 1000BASE-T Ethernet or similar
  • Experience validating power supply sequencing, efficiency, and ripple for DC/DC converters, LDOs and PMICs or similar power circuitry
  • Must be a U.S. Person (permanent resident or citizen) due to U.S. government contracts.
  • Employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check and drug test.

Nice To Haves

  • Test automation using Python or LabView.
  • Knowledge of guidelines for PCB layout.
  • Audio testing and characterization experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to provide clear summary of test status and any issues to broader team.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and work on several projects concurrently.
  • Detail oriented and have a firm commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Problem-solving, data analysis, deductive reasoning, and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

  • Use electronics test equipment to evaluate system performance, evaluate compliance compatibility and troubleshoot operation issues.
  • Carry out hardware test execution and generate status and test reports.
  • Define verification matrix and internal specifications of performance.
  • Review test result data to ensure that actual performance meets expected requirements.
  • Review and recommend improvements to existing test strategies.
  • Recommend new test techniques and technologies to ensure system performance.
  • Design test fixtures and calibrate test equipment.
  • Understand proper use and handling of sensitive circuits and equipment.
  • Perform other related duties, of which the above are representative.
