Senior Electron Optics Engineer

ASML•San Jose, CA
•$162,750 - $238,700

About The Position

As a Senior Mechanical/Electron Optics Design Engineer for an electron beam system, you will carry out engineering work to design, develop, test, analyze, troubleshoot, and implement electron optics modules. You will create and evaluate designs that meet the requirements of specified applications, taking modules and subsystems from concept through final release for high-volume manufacturing. The role involves design documentation, analysis and simulation, design reviews, testing and verification, collaboration with vendors, system integration, and technical support for the transition to mass production. You will also study and develop new technologies and explore concepts for future electron optics modules.

Responsibilities

  • Design electron optics modules and subsystems for an e-beam inspection tool according to system specifications, from concept through final release for high-volume manufacturing.
  • Prepare system-level and module-level design documents that demonstrate specifications, design principles, details, and interfaces in accordance with the ASML design process.
  • Perform simulations and calculations for electron optics module design, including thermal, vacuum, high-voltage, dynamics, and mechanical finite element analysis.
  • Lead design reviews, error-budget development, risk assessment and mitigation, experiments, verification, and validation processes.
  • Present and document concepts, designs, and test results effectively.
  • Work with vendors and consultants to develop, analyze, and fabricate components and subassemblies; troubleshoot and resolve problems during fabrication.
  • Participate in integration and testing of electron optic systems and subsystems, troubleshoot issues, and verify designs to ensure high-quality implementation.
  • Transfer designs to manufacturing by providing technical processing documents and supporting the manufacturing team through the transition from design to mass production.
  • Study and develop new technologies and explore concepts for future electron optics modules.
