About The Position

This is an advanced position responsible for ensuring the proper electrical functioning of plant equipment, troubleshooting any electrical system or equipment malfunctions, and completing appropriate repairs and maintenance. The role requires at least 5 years of industrial electrical experience and strong leadership skills as the Senior Electrician will supervise and assist other electricians. A high degree of troubleshooting ability is essential.

Requirements

  • An accredited degree or certificate from an accredited college in the electrical field
  • At least 5 years of industrial electrical experience
  • The ability to work Mon-Fri, 7:30am to 3:30pm, with possibility of night or weekends calls
  • Commitment to join the United Steelworkers (USW) Union upon being hired
  • A stable work history, strong work ethic & desire to learn/grow
  • A “Can Do” attitude with a proven track record of reliability
  • The ability to work on your feet in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Nice To Haves

  • Supervises and assists other electricians & as such, must possess strong leadership skills.
  • Must possess a high degree of troubleshooting abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair all existing electrical system and equipment in the production areas.
  • Install power supply and wiring for newly installed machines and equipment.
  • Operate electrical and mechanical tasks as directed by supervisor.
  • Prepare maintenance reports, equipment check lists and documented inspections as required.
  • Maintain strict documentation of all plant electrical circuitry.
  • Provide general lead electrician support.
  • Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, process sheets and assembly schematic drawings.
  • Diagnose and test malfunctioning machinery and discuss malfunction with other facility personnel.
  • Replace or repair faulty electrical components of machines.
  • Calibrate and adjust all electrical/electronic equipment according to manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Do minor programming and maintenance for programmable logic controller based equipment.
  • Researching parts to order and or upgrade for compliance to new codes as they apply.
  • Maintain proper stock of tools and electrical parts to perform routine work.
