Senior Electrician - Sunday to Thursday
About The Position
Electricians are responsible to maintain the facility electrical system in good working condition with little to no supervision. This role involves planning work, prioritizing tasks, ordering materials, and leading small groups. The electrician will troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including high voltages, and work with PLCs, VFDs, and motor starters. Reading and understanding wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints is essential. The role also includes assisting in the design and build of new rooms according to code requirements, installing and repairing fixtures, sensors, and switches, and performing soldering and crimping for repairs. Recording data for preventive maintenance, writing and modifying SOPs, and adhering to safety regulations are key responsibilities. The electrician will also wire, maintain, and troubleshoot generators, UPS units, data lines, and work on high voltage switchgear and panels safely.
Requirements
- High School or GED - Required
- 10 years or more in Electrical Construction or Facility Electrician Work
- Successful completion of an OSHA-compliant Respirator Fit Test.
Responsibilities
- Plan work and order materials with little to no supervision, prioritizing tasks and scheduling with department heads.
- Lead small groups and guide helpers to complete work.
- Maintain inventory for electrical supplies.
- Troubleshoot and repair shorts and overloads in electrical systems for regular and high voltages.
- Bend conduit and pull required circuitry for equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment wiring.
- Diagnose, repair, replace, and program PLCs, VFDs, and Motor starters.
- Read and understand wiring diagrams, wiring schematics, and blueprints.
- Assist in the design and build of new rooms by code requirements.
- Install and/or rebuild/repair light fixtures, motion sensors, and switches.
- Install outlets and make required wiring connections for 110 and high voltages.
- Cut and thread piping.
- Solder and/or crimp for splicing and repairs.
- Record data in log book for Preventive maintenance and information on work orders.
- Help write and modify current and new SOPs regarding electrical wiring and electrical safety.
- Follow all SOPs, OSHA, and NEC Rules and stay updated of current changes.
- Wire, maintain, and troubleshoot generators.
- Wire, maintain, and troubleshoot UPS units and data lines.
- Work on High voltage switch gear and panels safely with knowledge of the correct PPE and tools required.
- Work with outside vendors when needed.
- Place orders and keep general use materials in stock.
