About The Position

SAIC is seeking a mid to senior level Electrical Maintenance and Calibration Technician in Newport, RI, for a growth opportunity at an industrial/engineering/testing site. The candidate will join a multidisciplinary team of electrical & mechanical engineers and technicians to support the electrical maintenance, calibration, configuration, and testing of an advanced Naval Test Facility. The Propulsion Test Facility (PTF) specializes in the test and characterization of torpedo mechanical systems, including propulsion, combustion, pumps, and control systems. The candidate will become an expert in all electrical measurement and control systems within the facility, such as National Instruments based data acquisition and control systems, thermal, pressure, and flow sensors, motorized valve and control systems, and PID control systems. The role requires self-motivation, accountability, and professional presentation to customers and peers. The ideal candidate will possess analytical thinking, strong troubleshooting abilities, and the drive to become a subject matter expert on the PTF electrical systems.

Requirements

  • Mid to senior level experience as an electrical technician.
  • Experience in an industrial/engineering/testing site.
  • Experience supporting electrical maintenance, calibration, configuration, and testing.
  • Familiarity with National Instruments based data acquisition and control systems.
  • Familiarity with thermal, pressure, and flow sensors.
  • Familiarity with motorized valve and control systems.
  • Familiarity with PID control systems.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Accountable.
  • Ability to present themselves professionally in front of customers and peers.

Responsibilities

  • Support the electrical maintenance, calibration, configuration, and testing of an advanced Naval Test Facility.
  • Become an expert in all of the electrical measurement and control systems within the facility including National Instruments based data acquisition and control systems, thermal, pressure, and flow sensors, motorized valve and control systems, and PID control systems.
  • Present themselves professionally in front of customers and peers.
  • Bring analytical thinking and strong troubleshooting abilities.
