About The Position

Amazon Robotics is seeking a talented and motivated Electrical Test Engineer to join the Hardware Test Engineering team focused on next-generation robotic system design. The electrical test engineer will plan, design, execute, and document testing of electrical systems and components. This will include the design of fixtures, test automation, and safety certification testing. You will be accountable for leading and developing test strategies and solutions for new products, with a focus on automation, cycle time reduction, and improving product quality. You will work with hardware development, regulatory & compliance, program management, and other hardware test team members. The ideal candidate will draw upon previous electrical test engineer experience, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, and a passion for creating reliable and maintainable systems. The candidate should be open to new challenges, strong at multi-tasking, innovative, creative, self-directed, and a great team player. The candidate should drive continuous process improvement and partner effectively with cross-functional teams to solve problems and implement new solutions.

Requirements

  • Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures
  • Experience in component selection and understanding of component reliability
  • 6+ years of technical engineering experience
  • Experience building test automation frameworks and tools
  • Experience developing test strategies and plans for complex hardware/software systems or systems of systems
  • Experience using common electronics test equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, function generators, etc)
  • Experience in leading large, cross functional projects

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
  • Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
  • Experience identifying and solving complex problems through data analysis
  • Experience in gathering test requirements to create detailed test plans and defining quality metrics to measure product quality
  • Experience working with Linux
  • Basic scripting experience in a high-level programming language such as Python, Matlab, or LabVIEW
  • Experience with electric motors and motor test methodology
  • Experience in circuit level debug to the component level.
