About The Position

Design Works Engineering is seeking a highly motivated Senior Electrical Technologist to join our Edmonton office. This role will play a key part in supporting the continued growth and success of our electrical team. We are looking for candidates with 8+ years of consulting experience, strong expertise in building design, and the confidence to make meaningful contributions to a growing team.

Requirements

Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution
Minimum of 8 years of design experience within a consulting engineering environment
Experience designing multi-family residential, commercial, and industrial buildings
Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD is required
Strong command of English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to manage time effectively and thrive in a fast-paced environment
Self-motivated with strong organizational skills, capable of prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across various locations

Responsibilities

Gather client and project requirements and develop electrical designs in accordance with industry best practices, applicable codes, and standards
Prepare 2D drawings using AutoCAD
Develop 3D Building Information Models (BIM) in Revit and produce corresponding 2D drawings
Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, structural, mechanical, civil, and other project disciplines under project direction
Conduct site visits to collect project data and verify existing conditions
Attend construction sites to support project execution and review progress
Perform additional duties as assigned by the project team
