About The Position

Dubak Electrical Group is hiring a Senior Electrical Estimator due to company growth. The role is responsible for confidently and accurately estimating project costs while working within a team and completing estimates within required bid cycles. Project estimates typically range from $5 million to $100 million. The position requires working knowledge of industrial construction, design, finance, and project management, as well as an understanding of corporate and electrical-industry practices, processes, standards, and their cost impact on project activities.

The estimator prepares detailed cost estimates and construction proposal, scope-of-work, and client-presentation documents. The role involves industrial electrical job costing and tracking, coordinating multiple craft labor resources, understanding installation methods across civil, mechanical, and electrical work, and coordinating those installations to prevent physical interference. The estimator consults with project managers about estimating costs and proactively resolves issues, reviews and approves cost proposals, and develops value-engineering analyses without sacrificing safety or quality. Other duties may be assigned according to project, client, and organizational needs.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience is preferred.
• Accubid or similar electrical estimating software experience is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent is the minimum education requirement.
• High or expert working knowledge of electrical work and general working knowledge of mechanical, pipe, civil, and structural work.
• Detailed knowledge of industrial electrical estimating methods for power, control, automation, instrumentation, lighting, contract maintenance, data/voice, fiber-optic wiring, and project management.
• Working knowledge of industrial construction, design, finance, and project management.
• Strong understanding of corporate and electrical-industry practices, processes, standards, and cost impacts.
• Strong technical writing skills, particularly for construction proposals, scopes of work, and client presentation packages.
• Ability to coordinate multiple craft labor resources and installation methods across civil, mechanical, and electrical work.
• Ability to understand project scheduling and manpower loading.
• Ability to complete projects within bid-time constraints, work under pressure, and work effectively in a team.
• Self-starter with self-leadership and time-management skills.
• Ability and desire to participate in continuing education.

• Accubid software knowledge is preferred.
• Five or more years of experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and compile detailed, accurate cost estimates.
• Prepare construction proposal documents, scope-of-work documents, and client presentation packages.
• Complete industrial electrical job costing and tracking.

• Understand and coordinate civil, mechanical, and electrical installation methods to prevent physical interference between installed work.
• Consult with project managers regarding estimating costs and proactively resolve issues.

• Review and approve cost proposals and prepare meaningful value-engineering analyses without sacrificing safety or quality.
• Complete estimates within bid-time constraints using effective time management.
• Participate in continuing education through company training, seminars, and selected university resources as directed, provided, or requested by the company.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned according to project, client, and organizational needs.
