Senior Electrical Engineer
About The Position
Barge is seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer to lead engineering project design teams within our Facilities Engineering Solution Center. This role involves leading design projects in a multi-discipline environment, managing scope, schedule, and budget, and providing technical design expertise. The engineer will design facility electrical systems for various project types including water treatment, data centers, commercial, institutional, federal, DOD, utility, and industrial facilities. Responsibilities include designing grounding, power, lighting, and systems plans and specifications, preparing calculations and analyses, reviewing work, leading client meetings, mentoring junior staff, and performing construction administration.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an ABET accredited university, Electrical Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification required
- Minimum 10 years of related experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Nice To Haves
- An active NCEES Record is a strong plus.
- Experience with design of manufacturing facilities, data centers, and/or water treatment.
- Experience using AutoCAD and/or BIM(3D) software.
- Experience using AGI 32 Lighting Analysis software a plus.
- Experience with SKM Power Tools software a plus.
Responsibilities
- Electrical Lead for design projects in a multi-discipline environment.
- Manage scope, schedule, and budget for projects.
- Provides technical design expertise to projects including development of solutions to engineering and technical challenges.
- Designs facility electrical systems for facilities projects including water treatment, data centers, commercial, institutional, federal, DOD, utility, and industrial facilities.
- Designs grounding, power, lighting, and systems plans and specifications.
- Prepares calculations and analyses of electrical systems such as lighting and power systems.
- Reviews work developed by others for quality purposes.
- Leads complex technical portions of meetings with clients.
- Interacts with other project design team members and clients.
- Mentors other early career staff.
- Perform construction administration including submittal reviews, response to contractor questions, and site visits as required.
- Develop strong relationships with project managers, clients, contractors, and others.
- Additional responsibilities as needed.
