About The Position

Glumac, a Tetra Tech company, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their team in Los Angeles, CA. This role involves a key leadership position, guiding the electrical discipline, mentoring a high-performing engineering team, and driving technical excellence and project success across various sectors including healthcare, education, and commercial buildings. The position requires ensuring quality control, optimizing project execution, and enhancing technical standards.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience as an MEP Engineer in infrastructure and/or building systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Current Professional Engineering (PE) license is required.
• Working experience with building and electrical codes.
• Experience managing staff as a direct supervisor.
• Revit experience.

Nice To Haves

• Strong background in sustainable design is highly desirable.
• LEED AP BD+C accreditation.
• WELL certification.

Responsibilities

• Support and provide leadership for the electrical discipline within the office.
• Mentor and develop department staff, fostering career growth through structured development plans.
• Be a local supervisor to staff.
• Ensure adherence to firm QA/QC protocols and maintain technical excellence.
• Collaborate with Project Managers on budgeting, scheduling, and staff management.
• Oversee, plan, and design electrical systems for all types of projects including but not limited to: healthcare, education, laboratories, institutional high-rise and commercial buildings.
• Act as the Engineer of Record, leading technical communication with clients.
• Work with internal and external team members including architects, consultants, code officials and contractors.
• Participate in recruitment and retention efforts, ensuring a strong engineering team.
• Support and refine Glumac’s technical standards, implementing best practices in the local office.
• Provide feedback on technical standards implementation and suggest improvements.
• Track training opportunities and recommend professional development initiatives.
• Ability to write proposals for new projects.
• Participate in activities and organizations related to our industry, develop peer relationships, technical growth and business contacts.
