Senior Electrical Engineer
About The Position
Mesa Associates, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer with an emphasis on power generation. This role involves multi-discipline projects in hydro, gas, and fossil power generating facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience with low and medium voltage power distribution, motor controls, interfacing industrial processes to DCS and/or PLC systems, and power distribution system modeling software. Familiarity with panel design and 3D environments is also required. The position requires a leader capable of coordinating engineering and design efforts, working within a team, and comfortable leading meetings with peers and clients. Responsibilities may include coordinating with project managers and clients to develop proposals and estimates for bidding. The work will primarily focus on modifications and upgrades in existing facilities.
Requirements
- Electrical Engineer with emphasis on power generation.
- Experience in multi-discipline projects in hydro, gas, and fossil power generating facilities.
- Experience with low voltage and medium voltage power distribution.
- Experience with motor controls for both low voltage and medium voltage.
- Experience interfacing industrial processes to DCS and/or PLC systems.
- Experience with power distribution system modeling software (ETAP or similar).
- Familiarity with panel design.
- Familiarity with 3D environment.
- Must be a leader capable of coordinating engineering and design efforts.
- Must be comfortable working within a team.
- Must be comfortable being in front of peers and clients leading/conducting meetings.
Nice To Haves
- Duke, TVA, Exelon, Dominion or other power industry experience.
- Experience in relay protection.
