About The Position

This is a design engineering position that offers a variety of challenging opportunities in Electrical Engineering and will provide an excellent opportunity for career advancement. Support electrical design engineering efforts on multi-disciplined project design team. Responsible for production of engineering calculations/analyses and engineering reports. Prepare design inputs for drawing production including electrical site plans, power and lighting plans, one-line diagrams, assembly drawings, conduit and wire run schedules, wiring diagrams, elementary diagrams. Apply electrical engineering expertise to the design and qualification of structures, systems, and components. Produce procurement specifications and construction specifications. Attend project meetings and perform field walk downs. Provide guidance as a mentor in the development of less experienced engineers.

Requirements

Must be a U.S. Citizen; Dual citizenship with a country other than the U.S. does not qualify.
Must be able to obtain US Government security clearance
BSEE or MSEE degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program
7+ years of progressive responsible experience in electrical engineering ideally in a nuclear environment
Experience with producing engineering designs for low to medium voltage electrical distribution systems and instrumentation wiring; experience with more than one type of system a plus
Experience with NEC, UL508, electrical codes, and IES Lighting Handbook
Proficiency or ability to learn load flow and/or arc flash analysis software such as ETAP and/or SKM Power Tools
Proficiency or ability to learn lighting analysis software such as Visual and AGI32

Nice To Haves

Professional Engineer License (PE)
DOE experience preferred; commercial or Navy
Field engineering and construction experience

Leaders in these roles often direct automation and process-improvement work, for example, how teams automate calculations, summarize technical documents, or generate design documentation and guiding when and how AI or agentic AI tools are used while ensuring results are checked.
Overseeing engineers who program or script (e.g., Python, MATLAB, advanced Excel) to automate engineering tasks, with review of automated outputs, is valued but not required.
We also value additional learning, such as a minor, certificate, or other experience in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or related fields that enables effective oversight of automation and agentic AI-enabled engineering workflows.
