We are seeking a qualified and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Leveraged Engineering team to support our global plant sites across lines of businesses. The Senior Electrical Engineer will provide consulting services in support of design, startup, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment as needed throughout Qnity Electronics. This includes technical support to plant operations as well as for capital projects. The Senior Electrical Engineer will network with Qnity resources and cross-functional teams to achieve timely solutions to business problems. The successful candidate will have a strong electrical engineering background and the ability to use these fundamental skills to specify equipment per regulatory compliance and solve problems related to equipment performance and reliability for a full spectrum of devices in multiple voltage classes from 480V up through 35 kV. Typical areas of technology include: lightning arrestors, switchgear, distribution transformers, protective relays, breakers, switches, fuses, cables, M otor C ontrol C enters, motors, and A djustable S peed D rives. He/she should have a working knowledge of all aspects of electrical design including but not limited to: Application of Codes, Standards, & Regulations Area Classification Cable Routing Ability to read drawings Utility interface

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering
  • 10 or more years of experience in the Chemical Process or related industries with the working knowledge of electrical equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to be proactive, self-motivated, and able to function independent of supervision
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills – must be able to communicate with management, constituency, vendors, etc., in a manner that is productive and sharing rather than condescending or judgmental
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to plan, prioritize, and implement multiple concurrent projects or activities
  • Knowledge of related plant operational practices such as Process Safety Management and MIQA
  • Intimate knowledge in applying electrical Codes, Standards, & Regulations (NEC, NFPA, UL, FM, NETA, etc.)
  • Advanced working knowledge of short circuit, coordination & arc-flash studies; specifically, SKM Power Tools Software
  • Medium-Voltage cable expertise including cable splicing & terminating
  • Ability to evaluate (and maintain) through testing existing electrical equipment to improve reliability and/or accuracy
  • Ability to plan and direct E&I personnel during startup of manufacturing facilities; coordinate E&I field activities to troubleshoot and correct.
  • Fault Analysis skills
