About The Position

Join an engineering organization developing sustainable, high-efficiency climate and cooling technologies for mission-critical applications. This team supports advanced air-cooled data center chiller products, combining electrical power distribution, controls, mechanical systems, and product safety requirements into production-ready equipment. This is a highly collaborative engineering environment where electrical engineers work across product development, manufacturing, testing, technical support, and other product teams. The role carries meaningful design authority and responsibility for ensuring electrical systems are safe, reliable, manufacturable, and ready for production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Engineering Physics, or a closely related discipline.
  • 7–10 years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
  • Strong experience designing electrical control panels and industrial equipment electrical systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of electrical schematics, wiring, load calculations, component selection, and control-system integration.
  • Working knowledge of applicable electrical and product safety requirements such as UL/CSA 1995, UL 60335, UL 508/508A, NEC, ANSI Z21.47, and ASHRAE 90.1.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or Creo Schematics.
  • Ability to lead engineering projects and coordinate effectively across multidisciplinary product teams.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting, analytical, root-cause, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to take designs through validation and ultimately support production release.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to guide designers, technicians, and cross-functional partners.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with 2D/3D product design environments is valuable, with Creo experience highly desirable.
  • Interest or experience in data center infrastructure, HVAC equipment, chillers, or other industrial electrical applications is highly valued.

Responsibilities

  • Own electrical system design activities for air-cooled data center chiller equipment, including main and auxiliary control panels.
  • Translate customer and product requirements into production-ready electrical designs.
  • Design electrical panels, wire harnesses, wiring schematics, and electrical load calculations.
  • Select and qualify electrical and electromechanical components, including transformers, circuit breakers, contactors, overloads, VFDs, sensors, and control electronics.
  • Develop electrical schematics using AutoCAD and/or Creo Schematics and support integration with broader product designs.
  • Lead design projects across multiple engineering and product teams, balancing technical requirements, schedules, safety, quality, and manufacturability.
  • Plan and oversee product validation and qualification testing and drive root-cause investigations for quality and reliability issues.
  • Interpret and apply applicable electrical, product safety, and regulatory standards before designs are released to production.
  • Provide technical leadership to designers, technicians, manufacturing teams, field service, technical support, and order fulfillment.
  • Identify opportunities to improve electrical quality, reliability, productivity, and product efficiency.
