About The Position

CACI is seeking an experienced, mission-driven Senior Electrical Engineer to support the Army Reprogramming Analysis Team (ARAT) program at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. Supporting the Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM), the engineer will join an integrated engineering team focused on maintaining electromagnetic spectrum superiority and countering electronic warfare (EW) and signals threats. Within ARAT’s Terrestrial Electromagnetic Warfare (TEW) Branch, the position serves as a senior technical lead planning, designing, evaluating, and integrating advanced EW capabilities. The engineer collaborates with the Branch Chief, team lead, multidisciplinary engineering teams, and external stakeholders to translate warfighter needs into technical specifications and support capabilities for contested electromagnetic environments. The role supports testing and integration of ARAT software tools, algorithms, techniques, and processes with emerging EW platforms and tactical systems. It includes research, design, development, testing, and diagnostic analysis of RF and electronic systems; laboratory, simulated, and field testing; troubleshooting schematics and specialized equipment; configuration management; lifecycle and modernization recommendations; and preparation of engineering documentation and briefings. The position requires an active Secret clearance and eligibility to upgrade to TS/SCI. Travel may be up to 10% within the Continental United States.

Requirements

  • Hold an active Secret security clearance with verified eligibility to upgrade to TS/SCI.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or an ABET-accredited engineering discipline.
  • At least 5 years of progressive engineering experience in RF engineering, hardware design, or electronic warfare systems within DoD, military, or commercial aerospace/defense programs.
  • Hands-on experience with Digital Signal Processing (DSP), Software Defined Radio (SDR) architectures, or closely related RF engineering disciplines.
  • Hands-on proficiency with RF and laboratory test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, power meters, digital multimeters, network analyzers, and signal generators.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot complex electronic schematics and engineering diagrams.
  • Ability to coordinate engineering and test activities while supporting project schedules and operational requirements with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts and brief ARAT Program Officer leadership.

Nice To Haves

  • Active Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) clearance.
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or RF Engineering with 6 or more years of specialized military or industrial experience.
  • Hands-on maintenance and operational experience with Radar Threat Simulator systems, specifically Keysight UXG products.
  • Foundational knowledge of RADAR operating theories and electronic warfare concepts (ES/EA/EP).
  • Direct experience designing and analyzing RF transmit and receive hardware.
  • Exposure to or experience with antenna propagation modeling software and electromagnetic simulation.
  • Practical networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, routing, and network configuration, as applied to distributed tactical systems.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Visio, AutoCAD, or AutoCAD Electrical.

Responsibilities

  • Support ARAT’s Terrestrial Electromagnetic Warfare (TEW) Branch in testing and integrating advanced ARAT software tools, algorithms, specialized techniques, and processes with emerging EW platforms and tactical capabilities, including TLS-BCT Manpack, EWTA, and related SDR systems.
  • Work with the Branch Chief, team lead, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to identify, define, and execute system requirements to military and technical specifications.
  • Research, design, develop, and test RF/electronic components and systems using knowledge of electromagnetic theory, signal propagation, and material properties.
  • Analyze Army EW and RF systems to identify deficiencies, isolate hardware or software anomalies, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Conduct unit, subsystem, and end-to-end system testing in laboratory, simulated, and field environments.
  • Read, interpret, and troubleshoot electrical and data schematic diagrams to maintain or repair test setups, hardware racks, and specialized tactical equipment.
  • Provide technical recommendations on lifecycle maintenance, system modernization, and hardware/software resiliency.
  • Manage system hardware configurations, databases, and technical documentation updates to ensure traceability and operational compliance.
  • Prepare engineering reports, design packages, test plans, and technical recommendations for next-generation EW initiatives.
  • Present engineering recommendations and brief ARAT Program Officers, government leaders, and civilian military leadership.

Benefits

  • Flexible time off benefit.
  • Learning resources and learning and development opportunities.
  • Competitive compensation.
  • Comprehensive benefits, including healthcare, wellness, financial, retirement, family support, continuing education, and time off benefits.
